Every bookshop has a story…..

Book lovers everywhere…..stand to attention!!…..rejoice!!!….I have stumbled across the book that should be at the top of your Christmas list ( yes the one in the bold writing so the jolly man in the red suit can’t possibly forget it)

Title: The Bookshop Book

Author: Jen Campbell

Image-3 This fascinating and unputdownable book takes the reader on a magical journey through the doors of bookshops around the globe. Pack up your bag and don’t forget your marmalade sandwich under your hat, your whirlwind bookshop tour includes Europe, Africa, North America, Central/South America, Australia and Asia.  Amongst the section on each bookshop you will also discover ‘chats’ with different authors, describing their fondest memories of bookshops. These talented bookshop lovers also the answer to the question…..’If I were to open my own bookshop…..’, one I have also now asked myself. (and I betcha bottom dollar you will be too)

And if I haven’t tempted you enough…wait there is more! Who doesn’t love a ‘bookish fact’ ?! You will find the lovely little titbits of delight hiding amongst the pages. You will dazzle your friends and family with your newfound literary and bookish  knowledge. Image-4 If you are like me and enjoy reading more about authors and their inspiration around their writing you discover the author of this book Jen Campbell. She has also written another equally entertaining novel ‘Weird Things Customer Say in Bookshops’ and works in a antiquarian bookshop. She lives in the lovely land of Big Ben, Paddington Bear and Jane Austen. You will find her website here and she also has her own youtube channel where you will find some book tours and book chitchat. The question I have for this talented pommie is, when is the bookshop tour? Count me in! 🙂

Absolutely loved this book. 5/5 marmalade sandwiches.
